XTV is Exeter University's student-run film and television station. We are part of XMedia, alongside student radio station XpressionFM and newspaper Exepose, based in DH2 in the Students' Guild. We produce a range of factual and creative content throughout the year, from short films and music videos to documentaries and live broadcasts. If you're interested in crewing, writing, directing, editing, acting or presenting - or all of these things - then XTV might be for you!
Everything we make comes from our members' creativity and ideas, so we encourage everyone to get involved regardless of experience. We offer filmmaking and editing workshops as well as on-set training, whether members want to dive straight into making their own new short film or documentary, or work as crew on our many projects. We also invite past members to come and give talks and advice about working in the industry. XTV Alumni have gone on to work for the BBC, ITV and Sky, and on projects including Downton Abbey, Iron Man 3 and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!
If you have an idea for a project, send a pitch to ideas@xtvonline.co.uk and we can start the process of getting it made. If you're more interested in crewing on other projects or in tailing experienced members, join our members' group on Facebook for updates and crew calls: https://www.facebook.com/groups/xtvonline/. Updates on training workshops will also be posted there. If you're interested in acting or presenting, you can also join our presenters and actors pool for audition calls and updates: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2158762194422135/.
