About Us

Exeter Student Nightline is the on-campus version of the Samaritans. Affiliated with the national Nightline Association, we are a student-led volunteer helpline, for students, open every night of term 8pm-8am. We are not professional counsellors, but trained student volunteers, here for you to talk through whatever is on your mind.

Aims and Objectives:

  1. To reach more students at the university so our services can reach all those that need us at the university.
  2. To maintain and establish a group of dedicated volunteers, as without the student volunteer force the service wouldn't work.
  3. To hold regular meet-ups for volunteers to further relationships between volunteers, as well as public speaker events on a range of topics related to student life.
  4. To contribute to and support University campaigns supporting the wellbeing of the student cohort whilst improving student life. We also wish to further our relationship with other mental health societies, such as Mind your Head to contribute to the ongoing mental health campaign existing around the country.
  5. To complete another 100% opening rate.
