About Us


Welcome to Exeter Medical School's first Tropical Medicine Society!

This society involves all things Tropical Medicine, from neglected diseases, infectious diseases, emerging infections, global health, working overseas, to careers and research in Tropical Medicine!

We will provide disease profiles, teaches, and talks from people with frist hand experience. We also hope to hold a Tropical Medicine student conference!

Neglected Diseases Day: Prof David Dance and Melioidosis

Dr Dance is a Clinical Microbiologist with a particular interest in Melioidosis, also known as Whitmore's disease. For World Neglected Disease Day, he will be giving us a talk on his experiences dealing with Melioidosis in Laos and it's significance.
