Welcome to University of Exeter Salsa Society!
We run high-quality Salsa classes for students, staff and members of the public of all levels. We provide fantastic opportunities to learn, refine, and enjoy social dancing in Salsa, Bachata and other dances. It doesn't matter if you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro; a natural dancer or have two left feet - come and see what we're about, and learn to dance with us.
Due to the constantly changing university measures against COVID, we cannot establish yet whether we will be able to run again salsa classes in person. However, we will run salsa classes online until this is possible.

Once you’ve bought a term pass, you will be added to a private Facebook group where past classes and Facebook Live recordings of ongoing classes will be available! So don't worry about missing some live classes. We've got you covered! ;) There are already some videos uploaded so that you can immediately start to move your feet :* Due to zoom limitations, only 20 people will be able to join the live class (a Google form will be posted here before the classes, so it’s first come first serve).

This is an amazing opportunity to learn and connect with other students from all over the UK, so don’t hesitate to join the biggest Salsa family in Uni history!
Precovid times - hopefully will be back soon!:
-- Beginners - 6.30pm - Come to this class if you haven't danced with us before. Our classes are drop in, so you can start any week during term! You'll need to dance beginners level twice to progress to technique classes. No experience required!
-- Technique - 7.15pm - Complete at least 6 weeks of technique classes, where you'll learn the basic twists and turns of Salsa. After 6 consecutive weeks, ask us if you're ready for improvers!
-- Workshop - 8.00pm - Check with us first if you haven't come before! A workshop giving you a taster in a different style of dance, such as Rueda de Casino, On2 Salsa, Boogaloo, Merengue or Cha Cha Cha!
-- Improvers - 8.45pm - Here you'll learn a new short routine each week, which you can incorporate into your social dancing - it's in improvers where you'll really see yourself improve leaps and bounds! (this session will not be run for the first few weeks in term one)
Last year after classes on Tuesdays, we used to head to Tuesday Timepiece Salsa to put our new skills into practice, and help each other with our social dancing. We hope that we will be able to do this in the near future! Check our Facebook page on the day for our current times and the class location, for exciting news and to keep updated with the world of social Latin dancing at our University.
- We will keep you updated here and in Facebook about any University updates regarding new covid-safe practices that would enable us to return to campus and dance salsa safely.
