About Us

Aims and Objectives:

  1. Attract more members through frequent socials
  2. Focus on Stammtisch so that members can practice and improve their German
  3. To collaborate more with the other modern languages

The German Society is open to anyone with an interest in German language or culture.

There are many opportunities for speakers of German to practise their skills with Stammtisch, where we meet to chat in German each week in a relaxed pub setting, and monthly conversation classes, where we have activities and games for you to practice your German. Also, we'll be having fortnightly film nights showing the classics of German cinema.

The Society also offers trips to German-speaking countries during the holidays. These are a great chance to practise speaking German or to simply enjoy the culture and the food! Our Social Secretaries are dedicated to arranging socials that appeal to everyone, such as nights out, Oktoberfest events, quizzes and Christmas markets trips! There is a lot to get involved in with the German Society and we all hope you enjoy it!
