Helena and Becca
We're Helena and Becca, your Soc Exec Officers for this year! This year we really want to make sure we can represent the views of all societies to the Guild and work to make sure you can run a society in the smoothest and most stress-free way possible. We’re keen to make society affiliation and grant applications as easy as possible to understand and receive, so please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions, problems, or have any recommendations for changes you’d like to see.
I’m a third year Maths student and over the last three years I've been active in a range of societies as well as working for the A&V desk in the Guild.
I’m a third year Ancient History student, so I’ve spent a lot of time with Classics people as Subject Chair and on the society committee. I’ve bounced a lot around different societies in the Guild, and am keen to fund new and exciting projects for existing societies!
Academic & Employability
Hiya! I’m Ella, a third year student studying English. I’m your Academic and Employability Soc Exec rep for the 2016/17 year! Over the last two years I’ve been active in various societies, particularly Shotgun Theatre and the English Society – I’m the English Soc Co-President this year. I’ve also really enjoyed representing the English cohorts’ voice on the SSLC – I’m passionate about the standard of education at the university and the support networks in place to support students on their course – particularly in the form of Academic Societies. I represent the all these Socs, alongside those focused on Employability
Arts & Culture
Hi! My name is Tom Flynn, and as your Societies Executive for Arts and Culture, I'm excited to work with societies increasing collaboration between them in order to really push the boundaries and opportunities for students in the arts and creative circles in Exeter. I'm a huge theatre and musical theatre enthusiast as Vice-President of Exeter University Footlights, and President of ExeTech. Contact me with any questions on how to get involved in the Arts and Culture scene at Exeter or with specific enquiries!
Faith & Worldview
I'm a third year History student, and a former Vice-President of CathSoc. I've been inspired by the great dedication of all our faith and worldview societies during my first two years here, and look forward to working with them to create a welcoming and inclusive experience for all Exeter students.
Fitness & Wellbeing
Hey, my name is Peter and I am a third year PPE student from Wales. Within the Guild, I am the president of Raise and Give and am also the publicity secretary of EUFC; as well as participating within a wide variety of wonderful societies and student groups. I am in charge of 17 amazing societies and my main aim is to help every society achieve their best through help and advice.
Hi, my name is Gaetan Le Roy Maguin and I am a third year Politics and International Relations student. Having been the president of the European Society last year, I look forward to be your new International Societies Executive. Being an International Student here, I have always seen this experience as a gift. Making sure that all international students enjoy it as much as I do is my number one goal this year.
Hi! I'm Abi, a 3rd year Philosophy with Theology student and this year's Music representative on Soc Exec! I've been a part of numerous committees over the last few years, including being ExTunes President 15/16, and look forward to working with ExTunes and all other musicians again this year. Feel free to contact me with any queries or concerns about music and the Guild!
Outdoor & Adventure
Hello, I am a 4th year Engineering and management student and have been heavily involved in the climbing club for the last 3 years, so by day you will find me working on campus and by night climbing anything and everything I can find. My aim this year is to ensure that the 8 outdoor and adventure societies can achieve their best in the safest way possible!
Political, Campaigning & Causes
Hi, I'm Cameron! While at Uni, I try to get involved in as much as possible, and seeing and taking part in collaborations between campaigning societies is not only rewarding but enlightening. As outreach officer for Amnesty International Society last year, I have seen the strength and passion of grassroots activism in different societies like Femsoc, LGBTQ+, Socstu, Labour, Greens and so many more, which makes me excited to work with you all on the Societies Executive committee.
Hey, my name’s Laurel and I’m a third year English & Drama student. I’ve loved being involved with the Harry Potter & Quidditch Society during my time at Exeter, taking the role of General Secretary in my second year, and am excited to support all recreational societies within the Guild this year. Following the organisation of some amazing joint events last year such as ‘Fandoms Assemble’, I would love to encourage further collaboration between the recreational societies.
