Welcome to Exeter RAG! We are the largest student-led fundraising group at the University of Exeter.
Each year we fundraise for two nominated charities, we’re proud to be in partnership with Devon Air Ambulance, a local charity to Exeter, and Alzheimer’s Research Foundation. All proceeds from our events go straight to these two very deserving charities, so sign up and make a difference.
Some of our monthly (and more regular!) events include Thursday pub quizzes at the Vic, Zumba, bar crawls and other member’s socials. We also hold bigger events throughout the year such as Ragopoly - a UK based challenge where different teams compete to get to as many landmarks as possible, and Take Me Out, our notorious Valentines extravaganza - with RAG there is something for everyone.
Under the umbrella of all-things-RAG, we also have RAG challenges - a series of seven exhilarating once-in-a-life-time challenges that any of our members can embark on! These consist of our UK-based; Three Peaks Challenge or Skydive, and our international; Budapest Marathon, Lost Columbia Trek, Dash to Dubrovnik, Uganda Volunteer project and Mount Kilimanjaro Climb, all of which fundraise for different charities to our nominated ones (such as MRF, Amnesty international and the list goes on). What’s stopping you from pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, bulking up your CV, trying something new and fundraising for some incredible charities?
RAG’s aim has and always will be to fundraise as much money for charity through as many innovative and quirky ways as possible - we are always looking for new members and subcommittee to help us run our events smoothly. Get in contact with us by one our social media channels if this would interest you. In a society where everyone who joins wants to achieve something good, RAG makes for a really welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
A message from our Presidents!
We are Lucy and Evie, two enthusiastic second years who are thrilled to be the current Co-presidents of RAG. With a passion for making a difference and an interest in learning how to manage a team, we applied for the role and were thrilled to get it.
We found out about RAG through the Climbing Kilimanjaro challenge - which we are hoping to conquer in 2022!
After an inevitably tough year for everyone, especially charities, it is our aim to smash RAG’s fundraising targets like never before.
Stay tuned for all of our sick events, we can’t wait to meet you all!
Lucy and Evie
