Welcome to the Howard League page!
This society is perfect for anyone studying law, criminology, sociology or psychology, or anyone with an interest in the criminal justice system and prison reform.
Our society aims to nurture the dialogue surrounding the topic of criminality and the need for reform of the current system, whilst also having some fun! We are planning a year full of interesting guest speakers, events, debates, trips, fundraising and socials for you to take part in, so make sure you join us! The Howard League for Penal Reform is the oldest penal reform charity in the UK. It was established in 1866 and is named after John Howard, one of the first prison reformers. The charity works towards less crime, safer communities, and fewer people in prison.
