About Us

Details of our events and socials will be on the guild website, our Instagram page and Facebook page:

Aims and Objectives:

  1. To create a friendly and welcoming environment in which students with an interest in archaeology and/or forensic science can socialise with peers.
  2. To provide, in addition to weekly socials, extra-curricular activities such as trips and guest speakers which will create opportunities for additional learning and networking.
  3. To encourage students to support each other and mingle with peers at different stages of learning, most importantly providing first years a friendly environment to ensure they adapt well to university hours, using intramural sports as one of the methods for this.
  4. To maintain both a healthy financial record and a strong membership base to ensure the continuation of the society. So, that future students may benefit from the activities and opportunities which we offer.
  5. To provide enjoyable activities which will be able to mitigate stress and provide a time to relax and enjoy the University experience.
  6. To promote opportunities which will be able to help students with career prospects in the degree subject.
  7. To promote the society and events we offer through social media so that our members are aware of the opportunities available to them and to allow both our alumni and prospective students keep up with our activities and accomplishments.

This is the Exeter University Archaeology and Forensics Society. We are here to bring like minded people together to get dirty, stand around in the rain with expensive electronic equipment, and inspect the bottom of pint glasses.

This year we are really keen to have a really broad range of activities to suit all interests. Archaeology is one of the broadest subjects on offer, and our members reach across several disciplines so we are attempting to cater for all needs.

Our Forensics part of the society will be in Forensics themed socials and guest lecturers from different universities and profesions like coroners, police officers and forensics technicians!

Most importantly, we meet weekly for socials come sun, rain or snow, whether it be a quiet drink and a chat or a fancy dress club-crawl. You don't have to be an archaeology student to join, we welcome all who have an interest or just want to hang out with a lovely group of people. So bring all your friends and come make new ones!!
