About Us

Aims and Objectives:

  1. Provide an all-ability, inclusive environment in which members can enjoy making music with fellow flautists, socialising together and developing relationships with musicians from other societies.
  2. Give members the chance to enhance their musical abilities as part of a group, we aim to give every member the opportunity to gain new skills through the piccolo, alto and bass flutes available to try.
  3. Strengthen our performance skills together, culminating in termly concerts and performances that will benefit the wider student community and the general public.

Do you play the flute? Be it for 10 years or 10 minutes, you are welcome to join Exeter University Flute Choir! We are a small, friendly, unauditioned group of enthusiastic flautists who meet each week to play a wide range of repertoire from classical pieces to some fun stage and screen pieces. We are constantly expanding our library and welcome member input on this. The chance to try out the piccolo, bass, and alto flute is also offered. We hold regular socials and termly performances, some of which are in collaboration with other music societies.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays @ 17.30 - 18.30 in the Cornwall House Ensemble Room (sometimes located in other rooms but mostly in Cornwall House), on the University of Exeter's Streatham campus.

For more info, contact President Rebecca Heard by email rh711@exeter.ac.uk, message our Facebook Page, dm us on instagram, or come along to a rehearsal to get a taste of what we do!

We look forward to meeting you!
