About Us

As the name of the society suggests, we encourage the development of the future female leaders in Psychology and raise awareness for female excellence in STEM-related disciplines. Psychology is a traditionally male-dominated discipline, so this society is to support female students with their career aspirations by informing and supporting them. It is hugely important to us that our members feel inspired to pursue their career in Psychology and have the knowledge to be able to do so, therefore we run events focused on employability and networking within psychology. As well as this we provide a platform for like-minded female psychologists to share ideas, research and academic study skills nurturing one another’s talent in a supportive but constructive manner. We hope that by joining Women in Psychology, Exe you will feel inspired to pursue your career in psychology and gain the necessary tools to do so.

Our aims include:

  1.  Providing our members with a way of networking with leading female psychologists in disciplines relevant to their area of work/research and highlighting opportunities
  2. Encouraging our members’ academic study and research into STEM specific areas as well as promoting outstanding examples of research
  3.  Moving psychology away from the traditionally male-dominated discipline it is known as by celebrating leading female psychologists
