About Us

Here at the WIE, we've got your back!

We want to help young women develop their engineering skills and confidence to help them prepare for a successful career in industry. Now more than ever we know that you will need connections, support, guidance, advice and network to future proof your career.

-ONLY 13% OF ALL ENGINEERS- are women in UK! ( https://www.wes.org.uk/content/wesstatics ) Therefore, our mission is to inspire the next generation of engineers. By increasing diversity and confidence building, we believe business performance and innovation can be improved!

-We are a communIty where you can be yourself providing opportunites OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS  -NO MATTER WHAT YOUR GENDER IS- to network with leading engineers, Alumni and guest speakers throughout the year.

-Workshops and seminars will be held where students can develop their professional skills and feel confident about applying to placements.

HOWEVER, our society is not only focused on career building but also HAVING LOADS OF FUN with like-minded people!

We will hold regular socials where we grab couple of drinks and that will be an exciting chance to meet new people! Bringing together all years of engineering students you can represent us in INTRAMURAL SPORTS EVENTS!
