Conflict, Security and Peace Society

Aims and Objectives:

  1. Promote awareness and discuss recent developments in current affairs and the security issues they entail through organised student meet-ups.
  2. Organise talks with guest speakers when possible
  3. Create a community of students with a common interest in international affairs

The goal of the Conflict, Security and Peace Society is to create a forum for people with an interest in current affairs. We organise casual meetups every few weeks to discuss, analyse and debate global events as they unfold, helping you enhance your own opinions by sharing your views and learning from other students’ perspectives.  This also gives you the opportunity to meet like-minded students with similar interests.  We welcome people from all political/cultural viewpoints and from all disciplines to stimulate productive discussions.

What we offer

  • Discussion sessions pertaining to international affairs every other week
  • Regular socials
  • Guest speakers

CSPS events are free of any political affiliation and open to fair and thought-provoking conversation. We are also committed to protecting freedom of speech. However, to do so we ask our members to be thoughtful and conscientious of potentially sensitive topics, as this is critical to maintaining a productive discussion environment.
