Exeter Beats Eating Disorders

Aims and Objectives:

  1. Raise awareness about Eating Disorders throughout the University to break stigmas and taboos against them.
  2. Raise money for Beat the eating disorders charity which we have worked closely with for 2 years now independently while being at the Uni, through fun fundraisers like cake sales, marathons, and many more; as well as awareness events such as talks from guest speakers.
  3. Make sure that prospective students know that there are like-minded people here and they always have a society who understands.

We are Exeter University’s ‘Beat Eating Disorders’ society and our aim is to fundraise, while raising awareness for Eating Disorders in support of the charity Beat. Breaking stigmas surrounding eating disorders is really important to us as well as promoting a healthy recovery. Being certified by Beat, we want to be able to educate people on eating disorders the right way, and to sign-post anyone who has any queries in the right direction. By aiming to emphasise body positivity, and creating a community of understanding fellow students, we want to work with other societies, hold regular pilaties/yoga sessions we aim to emphasise Exeter Beats Eating Disorders as a society for everyone; from eating disorder awareness to body positivity our message is to highlight this and spread positivity across the university.
