2020/21 Objectives
Build relationships between students and the community through empowering and sustainable projects
Facilitate opportunities to engage and help the community
To be inclusive by creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere
1. Register your interest in a project(s) - You can do this by going to the project page and signing up to the mailing list. This allows you to stay updated on project activity and be notified about when First Steps Training will be taking place.
Not sure what project to join? The join option in the left column of this page will sign you up to Exeter Student Volunteers, and find out more about the projects that are running this year!

2. First Steps Training - All volunteers must go through this to start volunteering with us. This covers safeguarding to protect both yourself and the vulnerable people we come in contact with. First Steps Training takes place online and can be completed at your own pace. Following this, it is necessary you pass the quiz in order to start volunteering.

Note: If you have previously attended a First Steps Training, you will need to do it again online.
3. DBS - Projects that work in close contact with vulnerable people require a DBS. You can find the DBS forms at the Guild Reception. After filling the form out, please drop it in to the guild reception (ask for Emily) where she will be able to sign it off. Some projects may begin online and therefore do not require a DBS. However, it would be useful to get this done so that there are no delays should those projects move to in person.
Projects which require a DBS: smART Club, Music Makers, Summer Adventures, Mentoring for Success, Global Touch, Teddy Bear Hospital and Action After Stroke.
