ECS - Exeter Comedy Society
Aims and Objectives:
1. To create a society where everybody feels welcome and valued, and where every member can get to know each other through regular workshops and socials
2. To produce exciting, high-quality shows for performance for both students and the general public, in Exeter and across the country
3. To foster new talent, for both writing and performing comedy, and to give the opportunity for the comedic skills of every member to be developed and improved
Exeter Comedy Society invites all students interested in comedy writing and performance to get involved in shows throughout the year, regardless of ability, to learn new ways to write and perform comedy, meet new people with similar interests and network with fellow comedians and comedy lovers around the country.
We meet for fortnightly workshops for both Stand-Up and Improv, as well as weekly for Sketch Writing Workshops, and hold socials and host shows around Exeter throughout the year. These are to develop the skills of both newcomers and developed performers and writers, and give everyone the chance to learn something new, with the goal to perform material created in one of our many shows, and on our tours around the country. Our debut Edinburgh show 'Sketchy At Best' sold out throughout our run and received praise from the critics.
