QA Links and Resources

There are several resources available to you as reps which can both provide you with access to what previous students have said about their course, and how this information can be used to work with staff and students to make informed and impactful change.

Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey

The Postgraduate Experience Survey (PTES) aims to gain insight into the learning and teaching experience of taught postgraduate students across various institutions, and aims to provide a platform for the student voice of similar size and impact to the National Student Survey.

The report linked here analyses the overall results of the 2018 PTES and compares them with results from the last 5 years to identify positive and negative trends. If you would like access to your courses PTES results, please speak to your Director of Education, or ask us.

Accelerate

A system whereby students can provide feedback both during a module via the use of comments, and at the end of a module via an end-of-module survey.

The Accelerate section of the University website, containing more information on the survey, instructions for students, and a link to the survey, can be accessed here. Speak to your Director of Education about the possibility of accessing subject-specific Accelerate survey results.

ASER

The Annual Student Experience Review (ASER) looks at a variety of data and student feedback within each discipline, and creates a plan of actions and changes to be implemented as part of a review of the data.

The Teaching Quality Assurance manual outlines the various stages of the Annual Student Experience Review, beginning with a review of modules, and culminating in a review of the entire college. For Subject Reps and Chairs, stages 2.1 to 2.3.2 would likely be most relevant.

Be sure to discuss ASER with your Director of Education for more subject specific information and results.
