About the Print Room
We are the only walk-in, staffed printing facility for students on campus, with 5 PCs available for customers to use to finalize and release their printing. We are able to print in black-and-white and colour on a variety of paperstocks, undertake photocopying and scanning, bind, laminate and guillotine. Further, we can produce calendars, greetings cards, business cards and pamphlets to order.
We also make and sell a range of paper-based stationery, as well as envelopes, CD-Rs and printer cables. Competitively priced printer cartridges – both manufacturer branded and cheaper compatibles – can also be ordered from the Print Room. Simply come in with your printer cartridge number and/or your printer model number and we’ll do the rest.
The Print Room is open all year round, with everyone - not just students of the University of Exeter - able to benefit from the competitive prices we are able to offer as part of the Students' Guild. We always welcome enquiries and are happy to help!
We are delighted to offer a remote printing facility, which simplifies the ordering process. It allows for the attachment of files up to 25MB with a series of drop-down menus to specify your printing needs. Alternatively, for larger or multiple files we are happy to receive files by email, provided the following is specified:
- number of copies required
- black-and-white or colour
- single- or double-sided printing
- paper size
- paper type
- any binding
- any additional instructions (e.g. lamination etcetera)
Print items remotely and collect from the print room.
Monday - Friday, 9:00-17:00

DISSERTATIONS AND DOCTORAL THESES
We offer a walk-in no-appointment-necessary service for printing and binding dissertations and PhD theses. In order to beat the queues at peak periods we recommend planning ahead and coming in at least the day before your deadlines or using our Remote Print service. With this service you can collect your work from the Print Room, Guild Shop or Guild Info Point (dissertations only) on Streatham campus, or from the Guild Shop at St. Lukes. We can also post work to the Exeter Penryn campus (free) and home addresses (at Royal Mail rates). To answer most of our regular questions concerning dissertations, we recommend reading our Dissertation FAQs.
Submission of doctoral theses for students off-campus
We are able to print and bind doctoral theses for students who are not on campus, and can submit these for you via the SID desk in the Forum providing you provide us with the submission form. (Please note that we do not advise you requesting us to send your documents to offices on campus using the Internal Mail system as they cannot be tracked and may become lost). If you would like us to submit your thesis please either use our remote print service or email your thesis to us as a single .pdf file, and also attach your submission forms. We will print and bind the work to your requirements, and will email you back when this is done. When you hear back from us, you can telephone to make payment by bank card. Once this payment has been received your work will be submitted to the SID desk.
If you have any further questions, please email us and we will be happy to answer them. Please note that this service is only available for PhD theses, when accompanied with a submission form.
