Welcome to the PGR Hub

This is a virtual space to discuss all things PGR-related. It is a safe place to share ideas, ask questions, find relevant details, and hold me to account. A monthly blog update will be posted to tell you what I have been up to in a post that allows you to comment and share your thoughts on any of my progress or setback. Looking forward to having some interactive discussion with you all.

UCU Strike Updates

Because it's important to support our lecturers who are going on strike as they have their pensions cut, there will be no yoga session or tea/coffee & cake social next week. I'm working with the PG society and VP for PGT to find other places outside campus so we don't cross the picket lines. Until then, I'll keep you posted. Also feel free to email me at vppgresearch@exeterguild.com for any question or concern.

PGSoc and PGSabbs do coffee and cake at St. Luke's

Come & join us for tea, coffee, cake & a chat! This event is being held in collaboration with the PG Sabbs, Malaka (VP PGR) & Caitlin (VP PGT), and a great opportunity to network with ur fellow postgrads. The committee will be baking & we would love for you to bring ur own creations too.

Place: St Lukes G47 space
Time: Tuesday 20-02-2018 from 11:15 until 13:15

UCU Strike

The students of @UniofExeter voted to support the upcoming @ucu strike action. Lecturers should have their pensions protected & it is only when universities like Exeter put pressure on @UniversitiesUK to make a fair deal that the strike may not go ahead

Sending you all my solidarity & I'll be on the ground throughout supporting you all, especially PGRs who teach. If you have any concern, do not hesitate to contact me - Twitter: https://twitter.com/ExePGR - Email: vppgresearch@exeterguild.com

Library Funding Support for PGRs?

* In SSIS, there is a Library Liaison Officer for each Department (this person is the same for staff and PGR students); here is the list:
https://as.exeter.ac.uk/library/usingthelibrary/staff/libraryliaisonofficers/
  * Students in SSIS do have access to inter library loans (ILLs) (through the PGR Office team) - everyone has access to 5 tokens of ILLs (free of charge), after which everyone can request additional vouchers of 5 tokens (one voucher at a time, free of charge).

Funding Available for SSIS PGR Students?

All students have a 1000GBP initial allowance (over the course of their study) and there is a potential of up to a further 1000GBP once that allowance has been used for presenting at conferences or impact related requests.
