Blog

Welcome to the PGR Hub

This is a virtual space to discuss all things PGR-related. It is a safe place to share ideas, ask questions, find relevant details, and hold me to account. A monthly blog update will be posted to tell you what I have been up to in a post that allows you to comment and share your thoughts on any of my progress or setback. Looking forward to having some interactive discussion with you all.

Research Week

Supported by the Doctoral College, I am organising a research week on 21-25 May 2018. The plan is to have a diverse line of events on postgraduate matters. If you want to be part of the organising committee, please email me at vppgresearch@exeterguild.com.

Updates

Updates on eClaims

Hannah Crowe, Head of Talent Management, has spent the last few months investigating the process by which PTAs are engaged, contracted and then paid. This has meant detailed discussions with PTAs themselves, PGR Support Officers (and similar roles in colleges), HR Business Partners and a Director of Education. (please click on the title to read the full update).

FUNDING Available

Support the development of personal, professional and career management skills by and for postgraduate researchers across the University of Exeter. PGRs can apply for up to £500, and applications are open from 10th November 2017 until 16th January 2018. You can find out more about the scheme and how to apply on our website shortly.

This is a research network made of PGR students to discuss all things research-related. It is chaired by the VP for PGR students. It is a space to discuss any concern + discuss them with the University and the Guild + tackle them properly by keeping PGRs involved throughout the process.
Our next Research Network meeting is on the last Monday of November (27 Nov.). It will take place at 12:00 PM in DH1, Devonshire House. All PGR students can attend.
