The following change in Guidance for Covid-19 is in response to the Government updating their COVID-19 guidance and restrictions in response to the risks of the Omnicron variant.
On the 9th December the following changes to guidance were announced:
- From 10 December, face coverings will be required by law in most indoor settings.
- From 13 December, office workers who can work from home should do so.
- From 15 December, certain venues and events will be required by law to check that all visitors aged 18 years or over are fully vaccinated, have proof of a negative test in the last 48 hours, or have an exemption.
You can find the University all student communications here.
We ask all societies to continue following the guidance set out last week which can be found here. We also ask you to be aware that there may also be changes in external venues to so please check with your venue in advance.
For music and theatre societies, face coverings may be removed when performing on stage, or when rehearsing with an instrument/vocal as long as a minimum distance of 2m is kept between individuals.
We will be getting in touch with any societies running events next week to chat through any extra considerations that may be required/amendments to risk assessments. If there are any changes in guidance over the winter break, we will be in touch to let you know how this will impact you.
