The National Societies & Volunteering Awards

Exeter groups nominated for national awards!

We’re delighted to announce that some of our students have been nominated in The National Societies & Volunteering Awards 2021 longlist, seeking to award some of the best societies and volunteering activities in the country!

We know that students have had a challenging time this year, not only in your studies but also in the societies and projects that you’re involved in, as you’ve been limited by the Covid-19 pandemic or plans have had to change. We want to congratulate our students for being nominated, and for consistently going above and beyond despite such difficult circumstances. Every one of you deserves to be recognised, and we’re so proud that you’ve been nominated in this national award.

For the full longlist, go to their website!

You can find which groups in Exeter have been nominated for awards below.

The Collaboration Award:

This award is to recognise those that have worked alongside others to achieve something special. This might include two or more societies or teams working together, a student-led group working with the university, or a society or volunteering team working with external organisations. For this award, the University of Salsa Societies UK has been nominated, including the students in Exeter, among those at Birmingham, Leeds, Oxford and more!

 The Community Award:

Nominees for this award have been recognised for having a positive impact on a wider community, including individuals, societies and projects. This is such an incredible award, particularly this year, and we’re excited to announce that our very own Hill Barton Vale Little Free Pantry has been nominated!

The Development Award

Exeter Student Investment fund at the University of Exeter have been nominated for their work on developing career opportunities in investing, their support with networking, and more!

We want to congratulate all of our student groups that have been nominated in the NSVAwards 2021. This is such an incredible achievement, and we’re so proud that the hard work and dedication of Exeter’s students is being recognised!

The Ceremony will be held online on 5 May 2021 at 18:00 (GMT), and we hope so see some of you there!

Don’t forget, we’re holding the Guild Awards on 28 May, and nominations are open until 7 May!
