We’ve spent the past few weeks working with our Student Activities team, our Health & Safety Consultant and the University to come up with our own roadmap to returning to activities on campus safely based on the Government’s guidance and plans. A huge thank you to all those involved in supporting us getting activities back up and running, and to our members for being patient with us while we’ve been “online only”.
Whilst it’s very exciting to get back to in-person events, we’d like to encourage societies and student groups to continue with digital events and activities to make them accessible to all current and future members.
Please note that this plan is subject to change depending on Government and University guidance. Further guidance about processes will be coming to student leaders shortly.
Guild Roadmap:
Stage 1
Virtual activities only (currently in this stage)
Stage 2 and 3 from 29 March at the earliest
Allow in-person outdoor events with up to 6 people or two households (unless organised sport) with social distancing in place
Stage 4 from 17 May at the earliest
Allow in-person indoor events with up to 6 people or two households. Social distancing and face coverings to be worn (unless eating/drinking).
Allow in-person outdoor events with up to 30 people with social distancing in place
Stage 5 from the earliest 21 June
All in-person activity to resume
No sporting activity with bodily contact is allowed until Stage 5.
If you’re on campus already, we hope you’re as excited as we are to return to some activities, so make sure you check out what events and activities are happening over the coming weeks by visiting our events calendar or downloading our Guild App. Please note, the Government guidance remains that you shouldn’t be travelling back to campus unless for one of the specified reasons.
In order for the Government roadmap to stay on course, and for our activity to restart accordingly, we are required to demonstrate that we are testing our Campus community for Covid-19 and effectively stopping the spread of the virus. We are reliant on you, our members, to get tested for COVID-19 twice a week every week to help us to demonstrate this. More information on testing here.

Stay safe,
