Join Lily on Sunday to cheer on Mr Cox and join the final few miles...
A memorial walk is being held on Sunday 6 March in memory of Lorraine Cox who was killed after a night out in Exeter in September 2020. Tony, Lorraine's father and her brother will be walking 13-miles around Exeter to raise awareness for their campaign to support safer streets and to work towards the end of violence to women in our communities.
All are welcome to join the walk or provide support and encouragement at any point on its route which will pass the University’s Streatham Campus where there will also a water station. The anticipated start is 7am with an end of 5.30pm at Exeter City Football club, and the finalised route and more information can be found on this Facebook page. If you’d like to donate to support The Lorraine Cox Memorial Campaign you can do so online.
If you'd like to get involved, Lily (Guild President) will be at the Ram at 16:00. Free hot drinks will be provided. At approx 16:30 the walk will pass campus and we'll head down to the location on campus to either clap the walkers on and/or join the walk for the final few miles if you'd like to.
The University is working on a range of initiatives to promote safety with our partners in the city including Exeter City Council, Devon County Council and the Devon and Cornwall Police. To find out more please visit the Feb 22 Gender Safety Update.
