We welcomed nearly 7000 new students, as well as our returning students to Exeter for the beginning of a new year.
The start of the new year meant it was Freshers’ Week, one of the busiest and most action-packed week of the whole year, offering students the chance to get involved with societies, student groups and more, as well as meet new friends and get settled in to life at Exeter.
Some of the highlights from the week were:
Freshers’ Fair on Streatham went to a new level this year, with 4413 sign ups to societies. Students nabbed loads of freebies and offers, and the brand new quiet hour was a step in the right direction for accessibility.
The Freshers’ Fair also went to St. Luke’s this year, with 79 sign ups to societies there! We look forward to building on the success of that event throughout this year.
The true heroes of Freshers’ Week! Without them, it wouldn’t be the same, so a huge thank you goes out to everyone who volunteered throughout the week. From helping students move in to their new halls to getting students home safely from nights out, it was a monumental effort by all!
New students were introduced to Lemon Grove in style with some fantastic nights out, including the Freshers’ Welcome Party and the weekly club night LOST. We’re looking forward to plenty more big nights throughout the year!
