Elections 2021: Subject Chair Roles

Elections 2021: Subject Chair Roles

Special Election for Subject Chair Roles Announced.

Last term, we had our main Student Elections (you can find out the results here). However, as there were a few Subject Chair roles which were not filled the first time round we are holding a special election to fill the spaces.

Our Subject Chairs are incredible, and they do such an important job representing students’ interests ‘on the ground’ to improve the education experience. In doing so, they develop their own skills through the experiences and opportunities that come with being a student representative.

There will be a special election to fill the remaining Subject Chair roles for the next academic year:

  • Art History & Visual Culture

  • History

  • Liberal Arts

  • Medicine

  • Nursing

  • Sociology, Philosophy & Anthropology

Nominations for these elections open 09:00 Tuesday 4 May and will close 16:00 Thursday 13 May. Any student in these subjects (who is not graduating in the Summer) is eligible to nominate themselves for their Subject Chair role.

There will also be an optional Q&A Session at 11:30 Friday 14 May. We plan on announcing the candidates the following week.

Voting for these elections will open 09:00 Tuesday 25 May and will close 16:00 Thursday 27 May. We plan on announcing the results of the elections in the evening following the close of voting.
