BodySoc Wins Best Society of the Year
University of Exeter Students’ Guild Body Society (BodySoc) wins the National Societies Award for Best Society of the Year.
At last night’s National Societies Awards, held at Cardiff University Students’ Union, the Students’ Guild’s Body Society won the National Societies Award for Best Society. Our VP Activities, Becca Hanley was at the awards ceremony and supported the shortlisted groups through the awards nights.
On receiving the award, BodySoc President, Kate Jameson, said: ‘We are absolutely delighted that BodySoc has won this award. As a committee, we have loved having the opportunity to continue growing and improving the society, with last night being the perfect way end to a fantastic year. We would like to say a huge thank you to all our members for their continued support - we couldn't have done it without them!'
BodySoc has a current membership of over 1300 students and boasts a wide range of inclusive fitness and wellbeing events for all abilities. From Zumba and Aerobics to Yoga and Circuits, BodySoc really has captured the hearts of all of its members.
"We have loved having the opportunity to continue growing and improving the society, with last night being the perfect way end to a fantastic year."
Also shortlisted for awards were Footlights and Semi-Toned (Best Arts & Performance Society); Scouts, Guides, and DofE (Best Campaig, Project, or Initiative); and Uni Boob Team (Best Campaigning Society). We commend all of those nominated and shortlisted for awards at this national level – it’s a testament to the work our students do to improve the experience of everyone studying at the University of Exeter.
