Results from this year's Big Society Blowout

On Thursday night, the Lemon Grove hosted the Big Society Blowout, a chance to celebrate our societies and their committee members! Over 100 committee members attended the night, with awards being presented to some truly worthy winners.


Society of the year: Exeter Campus Cinema
Best new society:  Contemporary Choir
Outstanding president: Anna Markman from First Aid Society
Outstanding contribution to committee: Sorrel Pompert Robertson from TravelExe
Best fundraiser: University of Exeter Islamic Society for their Charity Week Auction Dinner
Biggest community impact:  Amnesty International Society for their Silent Protest for abortion rights in Northern Ireland
Outstanding contribution to equality, diversity and inclusivity: Nasara Al-Hassan from Exeter African-Caribbean Society
Best collaborative event: University of Exeter World Music Choir and Breakdance Exeter for their Performance at the RAMM
Best new event: Theatre With Teeth for Jawbreaker
Best repeat event: Feminist Society, Exeter African-Caribbean Society, and Exeter University Creative Writing Society for their Women of Colour Poetry Night
Outstanding society dedication: Sarah Dean for her contribution to Exeter University Footlights
Best Newcomer: Richard Ainslie from XPressionFM
