Chef (Ram Bar)

  • Salary: £18,683 p/a
  • Hours: 36.5 per week on a rotated shift pattern, including evening and weekend shifts.
  • Contract: Permanent
About the Role:
There is currently an exciting opportunity to join the University of Exeter Students’ Guild catering team as a Chef Supervisor for the on-campus student union pub: The Ram.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced individual whose key role will be to help support the operational running of The Ram kitchen including evolving the current food offering, whilst upholding all relevant Food, Health and Safety Policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include pro-actively supporting the management of the venue on a day to day basis, assisting with Kitchen training, rota schedules, recruitment and the supervision of staff in-line with budgets.

Deadline for all applications is 8am, Monday 24th September.  Interviews will be held Friday 28th September.

Kitchen Supervisor

About the role:

Communications and Marketing Executive

  • Salary: £23,025 p/a (Full-time equivalent)
  • Hours: 36.5 per week
  • Contract: 9 months fixed term

About the role:  

The University of Exeter Students’ Guild is seeking to appoint a Communications and Marketing Executive to report into the Head of Communications and Marketing.

This post strives to ensure we deliver our messages effectively to our diverse membership. The Communications and Marketing Executive will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive ever increasing levels of engagement within our membership with core services and activities run by the organisation.

Duty Manager Grove Diner

  • Salary: £20,740 per annum, pro rata £17,684
  • Hours:  40 per week – Term time only
  • Contract: Permanent

About the role:  

There is a very exciting opportunity to become a Duty Manager for the University of Exeter Students’ Guild.  We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with solid catering experience whose main role will be to help oversee the operational running and preparation of the food and drinks in the venue.

You will be responsible for managing the day to day operational running of the outlet and will have a proven passion for food. Coupled with the ability to change in a fast-moving environment and previous management experience in a catering environment, you will also have a skillset that reflects experience of good budget control and exceptional customer service.

Strong people skills, customer service, food preparation and presentation skills and a desire to drive sales are essential and you must be able to create and maintain strong relationships with a wide variety of people.

The candidate would ideally have a personal license and a level 3 certificate in supervising food safety and a first aid qualification.

Please be aware that some evening and occasional weekend shifts will be worked during term time.  As this is a term time only role, you will not be required to work at Christmas, Easter or over the summer.

  • Salary: £18,683 per annum, pro rata £15,931
  • Hours:  40 per week – Term time only
  • Contract: Permanent

About the role:
