The historic town of Dartmouth lies within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The ancient market town is 40 miles outside of Exeter, and makes a great day out. In fact it’s where the Queen first met the Duke of Edinburgh! You could visit Dartmouth Castle, take a trip on the castle ferry or enjoy some world famous fudge or fish and chips.

Located on the Jurassic Coast, Sidmouth is a beautiful seaside town! Not only that, but it’s home to the incredible Donkey Sanctuary which is well worth a visit! The area is also on the South West Coastal Path so perfect for a view filled walk.

Sidmouth beach

Exmouth is one of the oldest seaside towns in Devon. With almost 2 miles of beach, and being where the River Exe meets the sea, it’s a great spot for walking and water sports! You could also take the Exe Estuary Cycle Trail and visit Dawlish too.  With an indoor market, great fish and chips and spectacular views, it’s definitely one to check out!

Exeter Quay

A little closer to home is Exeter Quay! Whether you’re a water sports fanatic and want to try out a kayak or paddle boarding, or a café crawl is more your style, the Quay is the place to go! You can even venture further afield to Double Locks for a pint in the sun.
