Ensure that every single student is supported and engaged in an open, accessible and inclusive community, and has the chance to thrive

Objective Desired Outcome

Campaign for the development of accessible travel support for students

  • Students with disabilities are supported to access campus easily.

Enhance the training and awareness of staff and students of cultural competence and actively being anti-discrimination

  • University of Exeter becomes an actively anti-racist organisation in which our non-white students feel safe.

Campaign for better support and facilities for our diverse student community

  • INTO students feel represented and included at Exeter.
  • Students at Exeter are able to practice their religion on campus safely and easily.

Ensure that the Students' Guild and University of Exeter are effective organisations

Objective Desired Outcome

Work with the University to ensure that student demand is adequately catered for on campus, including wellbeing services

  • All students feel able to access wellbeing services and feel confidence in what is offered.
  • Student mental health is addressed in all aspects of both organisations.

Work with the University to develop better engagement, confidence and outcomes for all students affected by all forms of harassment and discrimination

  • Victims of harassment and sexual assault feel fully supported by the procedures in place from the University and the Guild.

Develop the student experience to ensure that every student values their time in Exeter

Objective Desired Outcome

Increase the support and opportunities provided for students from Widening Participation backgrounds

  • Students from Widening Participation backgrounds feel safe, accepted and supported during their time at Exeter.
  • Exeter is able to provide opportunities for all its students not just a select few.
Work with local partners to enhance the safety and wellbeing of students both on and off campus.
  • Students feel safe not only on campus but also within the town of Exeter.
  • Sexual health and consent are destigmatised on campus.

Create opportunities for our diverse student community to lead and deliver activities to celebrate our diversity

  • Students are fully equipped to run diversity events themselves with the support of the Guild and University behind them.
  • Diverse students feel adequately represented during their time at University.
