EUTCo's Woman in Mind is a hilarious and poignant portrayal of one woman's mental turmoil after she's knocked out by a garden rake and her reality and fantasy lives blur. Join us in the M&D room for ridiculous humour and unforgettable characters!
The play begins with Susan, lying in her back garden, regaining consciousness after knocking herself out by stepping on a garden rake. The action occurs within forty-eight hours and takes place in Susan’s garden and beyond. Throughout the play the audience will hear what Susan hears and see what she sees.
Susan is grappling with two different realities- in one she finds herself in a loveless marriage, juggling strange relationships with dysfunctional family members, in the other she has imagined a “perfect” family who adore her and live in a lavish, bright world.
At the beginning of the play, the boundary between the two realities is clear, however as the narrative progresses, the distinction between the real and imaginary disintegrates. Susan finds herself misunderstood, ignored by both her real and imagined family.
