Dr Judith Meek is a Consultant Neonatologist working at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. She qualified from UCL in 1987 and has since been involved in an extensive amount of research with her interests focusing on the following topics:

Prevention of brain damage in vulnerable neonates

Pain processing in newborns on intensive care

Measurement of cerebral blood flow

We would highly recommend you read her research team's most recent publication in the European Journal of Pain (23/09/20): "The impact of parental contact upon cortical noxious-related activity in human neonates" which you can find for free here (1).

She has very kindly offered to deliver a Neonatal Speciality Series for Exeter Paediatric Society starting with Newborn Individualised Developmental Care and Assessment Program (NIDCAP) on Sunday the 25th of October 10:00am to 11:30am. This will be best suited to clinical years, however it is a must-see for anyone interested in Neonates!

Please note that the lecture will not be recorded and slides will not be available afterwards.
