Homeless Action Project
The ESV Homeless Action project aims to unite students interested in alleviating the plight of rough sleepers in Exeter. Anybody who has walked through the city centre will likely have noted the growing homelessness crisis in the city. The South West saw the largest increase in rough sleeping through 2015 of any region in the United Kingdom, and homelessness funding since 2010 has fallen by roughly 45%.
The ESVHA will provide food, hot drinks, and, crucially, normalised human interaction to Exeter's rough sleepers on regular outreaches from campus, as well as working with local charity Julian House on larger scale, collaborative re-integration projects.
You will need to complete Working with Vulnerable Adults Training, and have a DBS check, both provided by the Guild.
