Event Description

Enactus BLM Action for Change - Changing times and trends

Tue 07 December 2021 17:00-18:30

In order to best understand racism today, we must understand how racism has evolved in recent years. Societal practices and norms in the UK have changed dramatically, especially thanks to technology. This includes how racism and hate crime have adapted with the changing times, explicitly exposed in the hate crime towards those of asian-descent due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Through looking at how rapidly society has changed in the UK since the 1950’s, BLM Action For Change will explain some key racial events, while offering participants steps to take to combat modern-day racism. Discussion on the issues presented will then ensue, before leaving the participants with a greater understanding of how quickly society changes, and how racism in the UK has done the same.
