Postgrad Beach Trip
Dawlish Warren Beach
The forecast for the Easter bank holiday weekend is looking good so join us for the first of hopefully many beach trips over the next few months!
Dawlish Warren is just the opposite side of the estuary to Exmouth (the train there is actually quicker/ shorter walk to the beach) and usually a bit less busy with more space to relax and/or play some beach badminton/sports (we'll bring some stuff). It's easy to get to via train from the various stations in Exeter and a return is only £3.35 with a railcard.
We'll get the train towards Paignton leaving 12:49 from St James Park (you can buy a ticket on the train if/when they come round), 12:53 Central, 12:59 St David's, 13:02 St Thomas and arriving at Dawlish Warren (note it's the stop before Dawlish itself!) at 13:15 although you can of course meet us there and we'll update where exactly we are on the beach as well as when we are on the train.
Feel free to bring others along and remember sun cream, drinks/food etc. but there's always a shop near the station to pick up anything last minute and there's also some other food/drink places there.
There are regular trains back and to make the most of the long weekend, in the evening we are going to the Bowling Green (just a few minutes walk from St James Park) for some board games/drinks https://www.facebook.com/events/579699992513783/.
