"Gloria" : EUCS & BSMVC
Two Devon choirs are coming together to perform a brilliant array of choral works, featuring John Rutter's Gloria.
Composed in 1974, Rutter structured the three movements of this piece around the titular Latin Order of Mass, 'Gloria'. These three fast-slow-fast movements follow the typical pattern of concertos, which make the piece "exalted, devotional and jubilant" according to Rutter himself.*
We are proud to be performing at Exeter Cathedral, "one of England's most beautiful medieval cathedrals"** and a true Exeter landmark. We can think of no better way - nor a better place - to be celebrating the Easter period.
We will be conducted by Michael Graham and accompanied by a Brass Orchestra. We hope to see you there!
Gloria - John Rutter
I was Glad - Hubert Parry
Jubilate Deo - Giovanni Gabrieli
