Who Am I?
I’m Natalie, a 3rd year Physics student and I am campaigning to be the next College Officer for EMPS. I strive for excellency in all I do, from being an Army reservist, to working as a Healthcare Assistant for Devon Partnership NHS Trust. I am determined to dedicate my time to create positive changes within the college, based on your feedback and ideas.
Why Vote for Me?
I will use my extensive experience in representative roles, from Deputy Head Girl to Physics Subject Chair, to work with the student representative members of each department and represent the views and needs of the student community within the college, the Guild and the university. I am ambitious, reliable and tenacious, three qualities I believe will allow me to succeed as your representative and main connection to the Guild and the wider university.
I have been heavily involved with making your studies as fair and enjoyable as possible this year including providing suggestions for the no-disadvantage policy, such as retakes not being capped at 40%, which has now been implemented through opportunities for students to request uncapped retakes of assessments or alternative assessments (Viva Voce).
I am currently heading the creation of a college coding club (name TBC) to allow students of all backgrounds to access the support they require, to succeed. I have also recently stepped up as co-College Officer, an opportunity that will allow me to gain experience in the role and make a difference sooner, rather than later.
What Will I Do If You Elect Me?
If I am elected, I will continue to:
- Advocate for fairness in all assessments
- Aim to make CEMPS as inclusive as possible, so every voice is heard
- Improve the student experience
- Improve communication
- Create innovative ideas to support your studies
