If you are struggling with a study aspect of your course we recommend that you talk to your personal tutor or college staff to see what support is available. Early assistance can often help to prevent a small problem becoming a big one.

The University has procedures in place, such as the Health, Wellbeing, Support to Study procedures and Individual Learning Plans that are there to support you in your studies. There are also other support structures in place that may be able to assist you.

Peer Support/Peer Assisted Learning

Peer Support may also be a useful resource as it gives students the opportunity to gain support and guidance in a relaxed, informal environment from higher year students who have been in the same position – whether in relation to academia (e.g. same module or discipline) or the transition to university life. Students in higher years are trained to become 'Peer Mentors' and provide this support for groups of 'Mentees' by drawing on their previous experience. This process allows both Mentors and Mentees to enhance their studies, enrich their educational experience and develop a wide range of skills. http://www.exeter.ac.uk/academic-skills-engagement-team/student-engagement/peersupport/

AccessAbility

The AccessAbility Pathway is made up of a team of disability specialists dedicated to supporting students with a disability or long-term health condition including Specific Learning Difficulties and Autism Spectrum Conditions. This service is available to students who experience a range of issues with a specific emphasis on how they are impacting on your ability to study and cope at University.
