VP Postgraduate

I represent the wide and diverse community of postgraduate students, ensuring that their time at Exeter is the best it can be. This includes reviewing the current systems of support and advice and improving it based on student feedback.

I represent the wide and diverse community of postgraduate students, ensuring that their time at Exeter is the best it can be. This includes reviewing the current systems of support and advice and improving it based on student feedback, as well as focusing on transparency and communication.

REPRESENTATION

  • Ensuring fair representation is in place
  • Offering an opportunity to speak, log any issues and complaints
  • Supporting the elected representatives through 1-2-1 meetings and training
  • University-wide review of the PGR rep system

EDUCATIONAL ADVICE

  • Priority for all PGs is education, so this is of utmost importance for me to focus on
  • Reducing the confusion over the most-frequent complaints issues
  • Working with the advice team to offer PGR and PG specific advice, both online and in person
  • Publicising the services already available to make them widely accessible and used

SUPPORT SYSTEM SUPERVISION

  • Review of academic channels of support
  • System of supervisions across schools and colleges to be scrutinised
  • Opportunity to share good practice across schools to create universal hubs of support
  • Lobby the university for better support, especially for the St. Luke’s community
