Working at the Students' Guild

The Students' Guild offers a range of additional benefits for salaried staff.

Generous Annual Leave Allowance

All staff are entitled to six weeks paid leave, plus bank and public holidays (for staff with a full year working contract). Additionally, the Guild is closed between Christmas and New Year.

Sustainable Travel Incentive

All staff have access to a cycle to work scheme, after six months of employment helping you to fund a new set of environmentally friendly wheels to get to work. Also, Guild staff have access to secure bicycle storage and showers across campus. Guild staff members are also able to access subsidised fares on the D Bus service to campus, participate in the University’s car share scheme and have access to the University’s shuttle bus to and from St David’s’ Railway station.

The Students’ Guild offers membership of a pension scheme with generous employer contributions and other benefits.

For staff living outside of the EX1, EX2 and EX4 postcodes, staff at the Students’ Guild have access to the University Staff Parking Permit scheme providing access to reduced price parking compared to local on-street parking.

Parental Leave & Flexible Working

The Students' Guild provides all parents with enhanced parental leave, after a qualifying period. This leave, paired with our flexible working approach for all staff, means that the Students’ Guild is an excellent place for parents to work.

Confidential Employee Advice Service

All staff have access to a 24-hour confidential advice service through our HR advice service, Peninsula. This telephone advice service provides advice and support on a range of issues, including health, wellbeing and finance.

Learning and Development

Students’ Guild staff have access to both the Students’ Guild own training programme as well as the University’s own learning and development programme which contains a wide range of training courses and personal development.

Compassionate and Emergency Leave

The Students' Guild provides compassionate and emergency leave for all staff, regardless of the length of service.

The Student’s Guild offers a range of discounts at both local and national shops and access to the NUS Totum card.

The University's multi-faith chaplaincy team works together to serve the whole University staff and academics to support their needs. Students’ Guild staff can access this support alongside any other member of the University community.

Some of our benefits have specific requirements that may not be listed here and are subject to change.
