About

Throughout the UK there are more than 9,000 students receiving financial support due to estrangement.

When we talk about estranged students, we mean those who are studying without the support or approval of a family network, which can often make studying and everyday life as a student a real struggle. Through signing the Stand Alone Pledge, the University of Exeter along with the Students’ Guild are committing to supporting any estranged students studying at the University.

This includes giving students the opportunity to apply for extra financial support and stability, helping with access to accommodation during the summer, assisting with scholarship applications and providing essential welfare support and guidance to help deal with such difficult circumstances.

If you would like more information, require support or have questions about estrangement or your own circumstances please get in touch  by calling the Advice Unit on 01392 723520 or email wpadvice@exeterguild.com. All correspondence and conversations will be treated sensitively and confidentially.
