Finance Delays

The first day of term has arrived and with it your student finance. Although it can be tempting to spend this as and when needed, it is wise to plan to make your money last, make a budget and stick to it.

If your student Finance money has not come through the important thing is to find out quickly where the hold up may be and how to resolve this quickly.

You are welcome to come to the Advice Service where an advisor can help you look into this. However your first step should be to log on to your account and see if there is a note about what the hold-up might be. From this you should be able to resolve this quickly and easily yourself.

Often Student Finance is held up by a missing piece of information such as;

  • Not returning the Student Declaration form
  • Incorrect Bank details (often if you have opened a specific student account and not updated Student Finance)
  • Not completing the online Exeter University registering process- This can be found your iexeter account and click on the registration Tab

If you have bills to pay and there is a delay in Student Finance the University has the Hardship and Retention Loan that may be appropriate to assist in the mean-time. Please contact the Advice Service for more information.
