*The Music Tuition Scheme 20/21 is currently on hold. We hope to open applications in January 2021. Please check this page nearer the time for more information. •
What is the Music Tuition Scheme (MTS)
The MTS is a grant for instrumental music tuition that any student can apply for, regardless of their ability level. If your application is successful, you could receive up to 100% funding for ten lessons.
Do I need to purchase a music membership in order to apply?
No, the MTS is open to everyone. However should your application be successful, you will be required to purchase a membership in order to access the music facilities. Information on music membership can be found here.
How do I apply for the MTS
All you need to provide is a completed application form. You are not required to audition; therefore funding is granted on the quality of your application alone.
The MTS is open for applications at the start of each academic year and the deadline for 2019-2020 applications is midday on Monday 7th October. Please email completed application forms to firstname.lastname@example.org by the aforementioned deadline to be considered for the scheme.
Where can I find the application form?
You can download the MTS application here:

How will I be notified of the outcome of my application?
All applicants will be notified within two weeks of the deadline.
My application was successful, what happens next?
Successful applicants will be asked to attend a compulsory, one-hour information session. This session will cover aspects such as choosing a tutor, organising lessons, payment and goal setting.
In Term 2, there will be an optional performance event for MTS students and their tutors. This enables all parties to celebrate the progress made, and also provides something for students and tutors to work towards.
On completion of the MTS, you’ll be asked to provide feedback on your experience.
My application was unsuccessful. Can I reapply next year?
I need some help with the application. Can you give me any advice?
If you need further advice, please email us at email@example.com.
