What is Give it a Go?

Give It A Go is all about giving you a chance to try something new, have unique experiences, develop skills, make a community and explore the local area.  The programme runs throughout the year, so there are plenty of chances for you to get involved! Most of our events are free for you to get involved in and don't involve any long term commitment.

Have an idea for an event you'd like to see? Drop us an email at activities@exeterguild.com and we'll see what we can do!

Societies

You can try out a few of our 263 societies to see what they’re like without having to pay the membership fee to join in first! There's absolutely no pressure to join the society afterwards, but it gives you a chance to try before you buy!

Try Something New

Whether it's something you've always wanted to try or something you've never heard of before, Give it a Go will provide you with the opportunity to try out a unique range of opportunities throughout the year. You may even like one so much you want to start your own society centred on it!

Experience

As part of our programme, we'll have a number of unique experiences you can take part in! From witnessing the tar barrels at Ottery St Mary to walking Alpacas on Dartmoor you'll be spoilt for choice!

Develop Skills

We'll be hosting a number of different training, workshop and interactive sessions to enable you to learn new skills. Whether it's skills relevant for careers such as leadership or time management or life skills such as budgeting, cooking or something else - we've got you covered!

Meet your Community

Give it a Go is a great opportunity to get to know people outside of your course and accommodation and find your community!

Explore the Local Area

We'll be hosting a number of trips across the year to some of our best spots in the South West. From the Jurassic Coast to Stonehenge, or Dartmoor to the beaches of Newquay, there will be plenty of chances for you to find out why the South West is best! Want to begin exploring already? Why not check out some of our suggestions on our Explore page here.
