Subject Chair promises

What your chairs have promised to do

Daneen Cowling

BSc Subject Chair

  • Create a transparent and more accessible SSLC, by spreading more awareness of who we are and what we do
  • Give more options to for students to give feedback, using a combination of social media, drop-in sessions and anonymous methods
  • Bridge the BA-BSc gap and ensure all years have a shared inter-disciplinary experience

Lily Bissell

BA Subject Chair

  • More help with reading lists. I’d like to push for short descriptions under each reading to explain content and relevance to lectures, to help the feeling of not knowing where (or even if) to start.
  • Support for those considering studying abroad. It would be great to set up a chilled discussion or meeting group with first, second and fourth years where Exeter returners can share their experiences.
  • Further promoting the SSLC through the department and GeogSoc. Continuing to improve SSLC’s position on the media map is key to encouraging all year groups to get involved and get their voices heard.
