An active leader is well prepared and knows what support systems exist to help them develop the best in everyone.
Active leadership requires that subject chairs are known to students and know what students want:-
- Subject Chairs should make sure they are known or findable by students in their subject.
- Subject Chairs should make sure that students know how to use the Subject Wall to provide feedback, raise issues or suggest changes.
- Subject Chairs should make sure that they attend training each year when offered, and are familiar with their support staff at the Guild and University.
- Subject Chairs are the student Chair for subject-level University meetings involving students and staff; these are known as the Student-Staff Liaison Committees (SSLCs.)
