Student Voice

The Student Voice team at the Guild support the democratic activities of students across the whole institution.

Democracy and collegiate decision-making are a core part of what Students’ Unions do - nothing affecting the rights and education of an individual student should be disrupted by undemocratic decision-making or unfair processes.

In order to ensure we as a Union represent the voice of our student members, we run Elections twice a year for the students who lead and represent all students; take comment and feedback through Student Ideas six times a year; and support the elected Representatives through Subject Council in academic representation and Guild Council for democratic student government.

The full-time leadership team of the Guild is also made up from elected students - and those Sabbatical Officers are the key decision-makers and strategic leaders of the student voice as a whole; and speak to the University and other external organisations on your behalf.
