The Be a Champion programme is taking off in Exeter … it’s about making sure that students make the most of the once in a life time opportunity that the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games presents.
A team of student volunteers are putting together an exciting programme of Olympic inspired events and activities. These events make up our Sporting and Educational Olympiad and our Cultural Olympiad. So far we have been awarded Bronze accreditation for our programme, and we will soon be pitching for Gold!! Whether you’re passionate about sport, love your art and culture or are dedicated to spreading the message about creating a sustainable international environment on campus and in the city, there will be something to excite you in the countdown to the Games. Get sporty in the AU Olympics, get dancing in our Chance to Dance international dancing marathon, get snapping in our Olympics values Picture This photography competition and exhibition. We’ll keep updating the events listings and look forward to spreading the Olympic message in Exeter!
"The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph, but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered, but to have fought well." (this message has appeared on the scoreboard during the Opening Ceremony at every modern Olympic Games)
