The Lemon Grove
The Lemon Grove (Cornwall House). during the day, is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in which you can meet up with friends and chill out. Fitted with several plasma screens, it’s also the best place to catch the latest sporting action and popular daytime TV. In addition to quizzes and the weekly Open Mic night, the Lemon Grove also puts on poker afternoons. It’s also home to the Lemmy club night, as well as concerts.
The legendary Lemon Grove in Cornwall House (universally known as the Lemmy) is the centre of Exeter social life. Over 2,000 students descend on it for the best weekend in the City.
It is also home to Exeter Box Office where you can by tickets for all concerts, lemmy nights and society events over the counter avoiding booking fees.
At the weekend it becomes the world famous 'Lemmy'. The Lemmy happens every Saturday night 9pm – 2am, buy tickets in advance and avoid the queue from Guild Box Office open Monday to Friday 10am – 4pm. Friday night hosts the best club nights in Exeter, these are open to the public and are very popular. If you are celebrating or just want to book a more comfortable, chilled out area at the Saturday Night Lemmy, you can book the Lemmy VIP Room, which is decked out in a Bohemian style with lounge seating and offers a range of handpicked, hand-made cocktails and shooters. Tickets cost £5 and are limited to 50, you can book at www.exeterboxoffice.com.
The Lemon Grove is one of the main live venues in the South West and has been helping to break new talent for many years .We try to provide as wide a variety of music as we can down here in Exeter. The Lemmy is a great place to watch a live concert so get yourself down to some of this terms concerts. Recent live concerts from Pendulum, Roots Manuva, Jamie T, Graham Coxen and Supergrass are only a small part of the Lemmy's long history.
The Lemon Grove is also the home of the Big Screen Sport with two BigScreen projectors and a host of plasma screens providing the latest in digital sport presentation . There is no better atmosphere in Exeter than the Lemmy with six hundred students watching Owen score that goal against Argentina. . Not only are all the top sporting events shown (Six Nations, England Internationals, Cricket etc.) but the Bar is also open throughout all the games!
The bar is open in the evenings serving a wide range of alcoholic and soft drinks and offers a host of games to pass away the quieter evenings. Look out for our weekly open mic nights (Tuesdays or Wednesdays) and Cash-giveaway quiz (every Sunday) both run by our own student bar staff, as well as our permanently low prices and special offers.
