Your Guild, Your Vote
Your Guild is run by fellow students that you elect throughout the year. Any student can stand to be an elected officer so that they can help to represent students' views and issues. From lobbying to alter the University term dates to representing you during the Forum project build, elected officers are the very heart of the Students' Guild.
Standing for election is a great way to play a part in the future of the Guild. You get the satisfaction of knowing that you're helping your fellow students, you get to make friends in the Guild and it's a good way to set yourself apart from other graduates on your C.V.
I'm thinking of running...
That's great news. There are a wide variety of positions you can stand for in the Guild and the first thing to do is to decide which you think you would enjoy the most. Check out our Student Representatives page to see what our current reps do, or leaf through the Elections Calendar to find out more.
When you know what you would like to stand for, check out the Elections Calendar to see when the elections are and what the important deadlines are for that election.
For most elections outside of Society and AU Club elections, you can complete all of the application forms online. During the nomination period for an election, head over to the Online Voting System to complete your online application. For tips and advice for your application, see our 'Standing for Election Advice' page.
The next election will be the Student Forum and Representative Election in Term 3 of 2009-10 click here for more details.
